Terms and conditions
Last updated: 29 September 2026
These terms apply when you buy from tangens-watches.com as a consumer. Please read them before you place an order. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of your country.
1. Who we are
Tangens Watches ApS
Frederiksgade 74C
8000 Aarhus C
Denmark
CVR 44506718
contact@tangens-watches.com
2. Your order and our agreement
When you place an order, we send you an order confirmation by email. The agreement between us is made when we send that confirmation. Please check that the details in it are correct and contact us straight away if they are not.
If a price or product detail on the site is obviously wrong, for example because of a technical error, we may cancel the order. If you have paid, we refund you in full.
3. Prices, currency and VAT
Prices are shown in the currency of the delivery destination you choose. The destination also decides whether VAT is included:
- Delivery within the EU: prices include VAT.
- Delivery outside the EU (including Greenland, the Faroe Islands and other territories outside the EU VAT area): prices do not include VAT. Import VAT, customs duties and any clearance fees charged in your country are not included and are paid by you, usually to the carrier on delivery. We can’t tell you these amounts in advance. They are set by your country’s authorities.
Shipping is free to every destination we deliver to.
If you refuse to pay the import charges and the parcel is returned to us, we refund the price of the watch, less the return shipping and any charges the carrier bills us.
4. Payment
We accept:
- Debit and credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard. Visa/Dankort cards are processed as Visa.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay, where your device supports them.
- Klarna, where available for your country. Klarna’s own terms apply to Klarna payments.
We don’t charge card fees. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
When you place your order, the amount is reserved on your card. It is only charged when your order is dispatched.
5. Delivery
Dispatch: we ship within 1 business day of your order. Orders placed on a weekend or public holiday ship on the next business day.
Carriers: in Denmark we ship with GLS, to your address or a GLS parcel shop. To all other destinations we ship with DHL Express.
Delivery times after dispatch:
- Denmark: 1–2 business days
- Europe: 2–4 business days
- Rest of the world: 3–6 business days
These are estimates. Customs clearance outside the EU can add time.
You receive an email with tracking details when your order is dispatched. Tracking can take up to 48 hours to show. If your parcel hasn’t arrived within the expected time, contact us at contact@tangens-watches.com with your order number.
Please check the parcel when it arrives. If it is visibly damaged, tell the carrier and contact us as soon as you can.
6. 30-day returns and your right of withdrawal
By law, you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online. We extend this to 30 days from the day you receive your watch.
How to return a watch
- Tell us within 30 days of receiving the watch. Email contact@tangens-watches.com with your order number, or use the withdrawal form at the end of these terms. You don’t have to give a reason.
- Send the watch back within 14 days of telling us, to: Tangens Watches ApS, Frederiksgade 74C, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark.
- Pack it well, with its original box, accessories and any links removed from the bracelet. We recommend a tracked and insured service, because the watch is your responsibility until it reaches us.
Return shipping: you pay for the return shipment and choose the carrier.
Returns from outside the EU: we refund the price you paid us. Import VAT and duties you paid on arrival are charged by your country’s authorities, not by us, so we can’t refund them. You may be able to reclaim them from your customs authority.
Refunds: we refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the payment method you used for the purchase. We may wait until we have received the watch back, or you have shown us proof that you’ve sent it, whichever comes first.
The watch’s condition: you may examine the watch as you would in a shop, to check what it is and how it works. If it has been handled beyond that, for example worn or scratched, we reduce the refund by the loss in value.
Bracelets: you adjust the bracelet yourself. Shortening it counts as handling beyond examination. If you return a watch with a shortened bracelet, please include all the removed links. If links are missing or the bracelet is damaged, we deduct the cost of replacing the links or the bracelet from your refund.
7. Warranty and your right to complain
Your statutory rights: under Danish law you have 2 years from delivery to complain about a fault that was present when you received the watch. This right always applies, whatever our warranty says.
Our 3-year warranty: on top of your statutory rights, we cover defects in materials and workmanship for 3 years from the day you receive the watch.
What the warranty doesn’t cover:
- normal wear, such as scratches on the case, bracelet or strap
- damage from accidents, knocks, or glass breaking from impact
- water damage beyond the watch’s water resistance of 10 ATM
- the battery in the quartz models, Komposition Chronograph and Komposition
- watches that have been opened, repaired or modified by anyone other than us or a service partner we have approved
How to make a claim: email contact@tangens-watches.com with your order number, a description of the fault, and photos if possible. Tell us within a reasonable time of discovering the fault. For consumers, a notice within 2 months of discovering it is always in time.
If the claim is valid, we repair or replace the watch. If neither is possible, you get a refund. We cover reasonable shipping costs for valid claims.
8. Liability
We’re responsible for the watch meeting the agreement and for the rights described in these terms. We aren’t liable for indirect loss, such as loss of time or income, except where mandatory law says otherwise.
9. Personal data
Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data.
10. Complaints and disputes
If something goes wrong, contact us first at contact@tangens-watches.com. We’ll do our best to find a solution.
If we can’t agree, you can complain to the Danish consumer complaints system:
Nævnenes Hus
Toldboden 2
8800 Viborg
naevneneshus.dk
If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre Denmark (Forbrugereuropa, forbrugereuropa.dk) can help with cross-border complaints.
These terms are governed by Danish law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published on the site when you placed it.
